Solar leasing in Maryland now

I just learned about a great program for people in Maryland (Baltimore and surrounding areas) to install solar panels on their house through a solar leasing program.  A company 7 Seas Solar, installs and owns the solar panels.  We pay a monthly leasing fee which they tell me is lower than my electric bill.  The solar panels are an auxiliary system so no batteries are required.

I am told that Maryland has good solar exposure from Seven Seas Energy (from Annapolis, Maryland), but we'll have to see what it comes out to when I get the leasing quote.

Anyone have any thoughts or knowledge about solar leasing?

First post- basic intro

This is my first post about a large task which Kate (My wife), and I are getting ready to take on.
I own a solar energy company (Seven Seas Energy, llc), and while installing solar on two houses in Baltimore City (Maryland) I fell in love with a small area called "Butcher's Hill".  The neighbors were nice, the homes were big, and because it is on a hill (hence the name), from a rooftop deck you could see all of Batlimore including sunsets over the skyline, the Chesapeake Bay, and Baltimore Harbor.

Well after admiring it while installing solar panels,  I decided to take Kate by a job site to see what her thoughts were on the area.  She really agreed with my vision of the area and we then called a realtor (Mike Wood, Remax Sails), and looked at several homes.

After a few weeks of looking, we decided to make an offer on a nice large home on E. Pratt Street that needed extensive work, but seemed to have great potential.

In this blog I will keep everyone up to date as to our upgrades, and work going on.  My goal is to show that even a 100 and something year old row house can be renovated to the greatest green standards.

Our plans are to upgrade fixtures, reuse building materials whenever possible, install a solar energy system, and renovate areas of the home which may have poor air circulation and/ or mildew, etc..

I'll keep you posted and put up pictures soon.

Please remember, I am in the environmental contracting business so there are times that I may use technologies that are not "tested" or I may install certain products myself.  PLEASE do your own research and hire a professional to perform tough tasks where you may get hurt or where a license is required.

Finally:
I will try to use the latest technology while staying within my budget, I hope that many of your will see how easy "green" can be and follow my lead!

UPDATE; I am working on Electric car charger installs now. We are based in Baltimore, MD.
